Drama Pupils Support Local STEAM Event at Turner Contemporary

Last Wednesday and Thursday of this week, six of our G & T drama students were lucky enough to go the the Turner Centre to help support a STEAM event run by Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School (CCGS), in conjunction with Artsmark.

This event enabled local primary school children, including St Peter’s Year 4 because of Mr William's involvement, to participate in workshops in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.

St Peter’s were invited to go and deliver the drama element of each day and the children worked alongside Year 12 CCGS students to help support Ms Websper. The workshop was based on the Turner’s Exhibition, ‘Art, Animals and Us’. The children had to demonstrate their drama skills to children from other schools to help them develop their understanding of how animals move and to explore the relationship between humans and animals in a practical way.

It was a fantastic two days and it was lovely to see our children working alongside Year 12 drama students and supporting others with their workshop. They were an absolute credit to the school and the feedback they received from The Turner navigators, Arts work and other schools was phenomenal.
