Adverse Weather

We will always endeavour to stay open during extreme weather.

We are required to follow the guidance set out by the Department for Education which states that schools should do all they can to stay open in even exceptional circumstances.

We also believe that it is right that we play our part in ensuring that our society continues to run even in difficult weather conditions. By staying open as long as possible we allow our parents who work in hospitals, medical centres, on the ambulances, trains, buses, other schools and nurseries, shops and offices, to keep serving our community despite the weather.

We will always monitor weather forecasts and conditions, as well as road conditions very carefully when making our decisions. Safety is at the heart of all of these decisions – both of children, their families and staff.

If school closures prove to be necessary, or circumstances change throughout the school day, we will update parents immediately via our main communication channels - via this website, our text message service and social media.
